Casual sex gets a lot of stick in mainstream media. It's often cited as the reason for a whole generation's moral decline. Apparently we're all so interested in hopping into bed with complete strangers that we're unable to form any kind of intimate emotional connection with another person. Whilst an argument can be made in support of that assertion, there are counter arguments which show casual sex can indeed help people at certain times. Indeed having a fuck buddy for a period of time can be instrumental in helping you maintain a long term relationship with another person. By being able to experiment with sex with low emotional consequences, it means you can try a lot of different stuff out that ordinarily you might be afraid to try with someone you really care about.
